Daniela Sime is Professor of Youth, Migration and Social Justice in the School of Social Work & Social Policy at the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow. She conducts research in the areas of family migration, social justice and inequalities, with a focus on children and young people’s education, participation in society and equal opportunities. She has led several research projects, including a UK-wide study entitled Here to Stay? Identity, belonging and citizenship among Eastern European settled migrant children and young people in the UK (see www.migrantyouth.org) and has published research and practice briefings on a range of issues related to European EAL learners’ education and minority experiences. SATEAL organises an annual conference for educators across Scotland who are working with bilingual learners and wish to develop their professional skills and knowledge. The SATEAL Conference is an ideal opportunity to network and share with EAL colleagues and professionals from across Scotland.
